Kraske Upgrades Kansas City Mayor Funkhouser's Chances

Occasionally, the Kansas City Star's Steve Kraske gets things right.  In his "Breakfast Buzz" column, Kraske opines that the "biggest winner in the PA pushing match" was Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser.

We argue that the mayor's solo, principled stand against insider dealing at the Port Authority deserves more respectful language than "pushing match."  Still, it is  good to see that the Star has reevaluated its "longshot" label on the mayor's re-election chances.  Soon, its group-think editorialists might even start reevaluating the mayor.

  1. You know, I have wondered for some time if the public truly understands that Mayor Funkhouser has a very difficult job to do. And that the job isn't made any easier by the city council's ongoing juvenile antics.

I wonder if the peoplo form their opinion of the mayor based on the inane comments left by a group of restless people motivated to paint the mayor in a negative light.

Heaven forbid we have a mayor who choses increased police force so that people will feel its safe to live in Kansas City. And since we are in the top ten most dangerous cities it would seem a wise choice.

People need to look beyond the juvenile accusations of a small but vociferous group of dissidents who don't care anything about Kansas City or they would be trying to make it better. What wasted time and possibly even talent.

The voters need to listen and think for themselves and realize that all voices taking cheap shots at the mayor have questionable motives. And sadly none of them seem to have Kansas City's potential growth and posperity in mind.

Citizens, think beyond the mad ranting and sniping for the truth. Mayor Funkhouser has been accused of "not getting along" with the inhabitants of city hall. Which is just one more reason to vote for him in my opinion.
